About Us

Born out of the idea that the hungry and homeless do not have a great source of nutritional proteins, a group of friends who enjoy cooking and smoking meat for their own families felt compelled to begin providing those same good eats to the underprivileged. Since 2004, their mission has been focused on serving meat and other dishes to those in need throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area to nourish bodies and spirits.

Family and friends have gathered over the years to provide meals to a number of organizations in Kansas City, including City Union Mission, Hope Faith Ministries, Bridge Home For Children, St. Mary’s Food Kitchen, and The Morning Glory Café (a partnership of Catholic Charities and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception).

In 2011, the desire to expand their outreach through further community involvement resulted in a formal entity and thus the foundation, You Fed Me.

Our Purpose:
  1. To provide good quality proteins for those who don’t normally get them.
  2. To connect the suburbs to the inner city through those that are able to provide to those who don’t have much.
  3. To serve with family and friends so that community service becomes an everyday part of our lives.
  4. To support and partner with local organizations who feed those in need.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”  Matthew 25:35-36
